Parking
Please note there is no car parking in the Chine, please use the Vernon Meadow car park in the Old Village (PO37 6AQ) or along Shanklin Esplanade (PO37 6BH).
Public transport
The Islandline train stops at Shanklin station. From there it’s a pleasant walk to the Old Village and the Chine.
Southern Vectis buses 2 and 3 stop at Shanklin.

Entrances
Shanklin Chine has two entrances:
Shanklin Old Village via Chine Hollow (adjacent to the Crab Inn)
Old Village Entrance: Park at the main Old Village car park at the High Street/Chine Avenue junction. Walk back to the High Street, turn left between The Crab pub & Pencil Cottage and walk 100m. Please note that when using this entrance, you will descend 60 steps and walk down the Chine. For health and safety reasons, those with wheelchairs, pushchairs, infants under 4 years, and groups are no longer able to use this entrance/exit and so MUST use the Shanklin Esplanade entrance/exit to the Chine only.
Shanklin Esplanade
Esplanade, Family and Accessible Entrance: Park on Shanklin Esplanade and walk to the southern end, with the beach on your left-hand side, head up the hill and look for the signs. By using this entrance, you will be travelling up the Chine.
