Shanklin Chine will be open for the season from 31st March until 6th November 2022. Gates open at 10am with the illuminations being turned on at dusk. Gates close at 10pm, but please note last entry to Shanklin Chine is 9.30pm (30 minutes before closing). Also due to the natural formation of Shanklin Chine it is a weather dependent attraction and we may be forced to close during bad weather, sometimes at short notice.

Visitors purchasing tickets for Shanklin Chine, will automatically receive 7 days of free re-entry. That’s totally unlimited returns within the 7 days following your first day’s visit!

Standard opening times, terms and conditions apply. The same person will be expected to re-sign the entry tickets each time you come back, and will be expected to prove their signature and printed name with a bankcard or driving licence.

Prices include entry to the Chine, an attraction map, musical performances every Tuesday and Thursday in July and August and the Chine illuminations starting from the reopening of the season. Gift Aid included.

As a business we do prefer to take card/ contactless payments. We do accept cash as well (but please note we may not be able to do always do this if we do not have change in the tills)

Upon arrival please be aware that with all tickets (including re-entries) you will still be required to queue for entry. This may take longer during the busier peak times, our staff work as quickly as possible. We ask that visitors be patient and courteous, allow space and be aware of others who may be entering or leaving the Chine, especially at the Old Village Box (top) entrance.

Island residents
Proof of residency (e.g. driving licence) is required upon arrival at the ticket office. Please note this offer is only valid for those who live at the address (children included). This offer is for 7 day return tickets and any annual passes.

NHS & Blue Light Card Holders
An ID card/ blue light card is required upon arrival at the ticket office.

Defence Discount Service
An ID card/ blue light card is required upon arrival at the ticket office.

Host families
Here at Shanklin Chine we, like many others, stand with Ukraine. We want to do our bit too so we are offering host families 20% off admission to Shanklin Chine. To qualify for this discount all we ask is the Ukrainian person/ family staying with you bring some form of ID (i.e. passport) and the discount will be applied by the checking in clerk.

PLEASE NOTE; only one discount can be applied at one time and not multiples (for example; a resident working for the NHS will only receive 20%)
